Ideals and Practices of Media Reform Sharing Session
They discussed freedom of the press, truthfulness of news and how to make good news, and encouraged students to look at the news from different angles and perspectives in order to obtain more comprehensive information.The 3 speakers also discussed current issues with the students, such as the #The1975 singer and bassist kissing on stage, the comments made by the Minister of State for #Kedah and the #metoo incident.
She shared her personal thoughts on the job of a journalist at the event to give students a better understanding of the current situation of journalists in Malaysia.
Another keynote speaker, Will, also shared his own journey as a journalist, including what he saw when he was a journalist and the issue of press freedom in Malaysia, in the hope that the new generation of media students can reform the current flawed media industry when they enter the workforce.
