Oneworld Hanxin Face to Face Short Film Competition Press Conference
Purpose
a) To discover the creative potential of youth through short film production.
b) To promote creative interest, self-expression, team spirit and coping skills among youth.
c) To encourage creators to participate in the creative process of independent films.
Creative content
Entries must create content with the theme "Face to Face".
• To encourage face-to-face communication between people.
• To avoid sensitive topics such as religion, race, politics, etc.
• To avoid violence, pornography or insults to any party or person.
Entries requirements
• Length of short film: less than 5 minutes (including title and credits).
• Language of short film: any language with Chinese and English subtitles.
• Format of film: HD with a resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080) and an output format of mpg or mov.
• The participating film (movie) file needs to be burned to a computer disc (DVD-R format) with 1 backup copy.

Rules of Entries
• All participants and his/her/their production team must be Malaysian citizens.
• No limit to the number of entries, each entry requires its own entry form.
• Participants are required to attach a photocopy of their IC to verify their identity.
• All participants under 18 must obtain his/her guardian’s consent. The guardian must complete the entry form and attach a photocopy of the guardian's IC in the “Guardian Information” section of the registration form.
• No restrictions on genre, it can be comedy, romance, suspense, and/or others.
• Participating film/movie must be new and have never participated or won any other competitions before.
• Entries must be submitted together with the Chinese/English script and the introduction to the work (up to 200 words).
• Entries and short film must reach the designated address on or before February 29, 2020.
• Entries/film that are submitted late or do not meet the rules will be disqualified.
• Entry forms/film cannot be changed once submitted and will not be returned to the contestants.
• The organizer reserves the right to disqualify the participant(s) and his/her/their team.
• Participants must ensure that the video material, sound file (including music) used in the entry has been copyrighted, or that the copyright owner has authorized access to the work (only crediting in credit list is not considered rights cleared). Participants bear full responsibility should there be any copyright dispute arises due to unauthorized usage and the organizer shall not be liable for the abovementioned copyright issue.
• Participating entries must not over-emphasize a certain product or brand marketing/ exposure.
• Winners will authorize the organizer to use their winning short films for educational and promotional purposes, including re-editing, printing, and broadcasting some or all of the footage. The organizer is not required to notify the entrant or to provide extra monetary incentive for it.
• After the first round of screening, there will be decision on films that enters the Final round.
• There will be 10 Finalists chosen for each category (Secondary category and Open category)
• Finalists will be chosen based on Jury’s decision and result is deemed final.
• In case of any dispute, the organizer calls the final decision.
• The copyright of the winning Film/Movie is owned by the creator.
• The content of the entry must not infringe any third parties rights.
